The two most important things on my desk this evening.
One's a rusty nail (left).
The other (right) is an Ammeter that originally was in a MiG jet. It's going in the Silver Bullet soon. Isn't it beautiful? I bought it from a Ukranian...

If you picture the Ammeter as a normal clock, the rusty nail looks freakin' HUGE!

I was gonna say that's actually a tachometer, but then I got a good look at it. That's an A in Cyrillic all right ("Ampermetr" was the name of one of the spy boats that used to follow the U.S. Navy around.)
Bedamned if I can figure out what in a MIG would need a 500A ammeter for, though. Did you get the shunt? If you did, you could use it to monitor the current when you start the car. If you didn't, it probably reads 0-2 millivolts and will burn out.

I didn't get the shunt, but I did buy a cheap ammeter off of ebay, and I'm hoping I can use the hookups from that one to plug it all in... I'm hoping just to have it set up in the car to see if the alternator is charging the battery or what...
